Eve Online dev CCP hosting training sessions for newcomers, starting tonight

Eve Online is a bloody minefield to wrap your head around, but so utterly brilliant once it all clicks. That's why developer CCP Games is holding training sessions in-game to help newcomers learn the ropes.

Eurogamer reports that the hour-long seminars will start tonight at 5pm UK time and will focus on a monthly topic. From today until November 19 the topic is PvP combat, earning ISK and how to be a useful part of a corporation. To participate, just go to the New Player Training Session section of the game and get stuck in.

A post on the CCP Blog explains why the studio is holding the sessions in the first place.

"But why are we doing this?" it asks, "The simple fact is a lot of players come into the game and are overwhelmed by what they find. Teaching them in a structured fashion like this can help them get into New Eden more quickly and get them out there interacting with other players. Your corporations and alliances will benefit, either by having better-trained recruits, more informed customers, or even targets more willing to come out and fight you."
