GTA Online title update now available for Xbox 360

Grand Theft Auto Online has received a new title update on PlayStation 3 that is said to address several server issues. Overnight, Rockstar released the update for Xbox 360.

Full notes can be found here.

The update details were posted on the Rockstar News Wire blog.

The blog points to a thread of known GTA Online issues, and then highlights some key areas addressed by the new update, and some that will be addressed moving forward.

Other issues being addressed and workarounds for issues not fixed as of yet can be found through the Rockstar Support site.

They are:

  • For PlayStation 3 users, a PlayStation Network server issue was detected that was limiting the amount of possible concurrent users. This was preventing most players from accessing GTA Online altogether and as of this morning, that problem was resolved.
  • There is an issue that is preventing some players from getting through the first tutorial mission across both platforms. Many players have been able to get through this with repeated retries, and we are working on unblocking this for everyone as soon as possible.
  • This morning, we experienced some instability across the GTA Online services which is affecting even people who have progressed beyond the tutorial mission. We are identifying these issues now and are working to restore stability for users as soon as possible.
  • For the time being and until we have been able to get everybody access to GTA Online and things are running smoothly, we have disabled the option of purchasable GTA$ cash packs. Players can however keep on earning GTA$ by pulling off Jobs and other profitable gameplay activities rather than purchasing cash packs.

Rockstar added, “All of these initial technical issues will be ironed out as soon as we can. Please know that the entire team here at Rockstar and all of our relevant partners are and will continue to be working around the clock to get the experience to be as smooth as possible, as soon as possible.

Yesterday I managed to play for several hours without a hitch, but some of my friends are still stuck on the tutorial infinite loop. Seems like they’re over the worst of it now from my own experience. Hopefully once they sort the tutorial it should be plain sailing for everyone.

Bumped i see, things are still bumpy, but when i got in a match with a friend apparently (Didn’t even select that choice) Things were smooth although some problems occurred such as not be able to rob a store, guy won’t open the register even though a gun is pointed or shooting someone who is online standing still doesn’t die.

So by no means perfect, yet.

But there is a lot a potential when working, so i guess thats a point i should add.

Now i need more money in this though, robbing stores and evading police are fun. Oh the ATM thing is cool really ensures you hide money away instead of being robbed.

Use your phone to deposit your money as people wait by atms

Go golf to level up fast

Races are easy ways to earn money

Give stolen cars to car shops to gain decent cash (once every real time 30-45mins)

You can still be killed in “passive mode” via being ran over & shot while driving

Join a crew to gain a little extra XP and support
