Nintendo planning Wii U support for MonoGame Framework

The MonoGame Framework, used in conjunction with XNA development, has been used on titles like Fez and Bastion to help more easily allow for cross-platform development, a la what has made Unity so popular, and Siliconera says Nintendo wants the Wii U to be incorporated into the fold of platforms the framework supports. Currently, it supports iOS, Android, PC, Mac, Linux, Windows Phone, PlayStation Mobile, and OUYA.

    No good if a developer cannot use a retail box to develop on. I can walk into a shop and buy most of the devices listed above, take it home and deploy a MonoGame app to it. Can’t do that with a WiiU.
