Sony waiting for right time to re-introduce The Last Guardian, Yoshida confirms

Thursday, 3rd October 2013 10:17 GMT By Dave Cook

The Last Guardian has been mentioned by Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida. He couldn’t say what format it’s in development for, but said that the company is waiting for the right time to talk about it again.

Speaking with GI.biz in the Sony Studios Japan office. The site asked Yoshida where the game was. he replied, “Yeah, in this building,” but when asked what format is was coming to he added, “Ahh… That, I cannot talk about.”

Elaborating, he continued, “So, we’re waiting for the right time to re-introduce The Last Guardian in an appropriate way. I can’t… Well, the game is in development, and it’s well staffed, and Ueda-san is here, working – even though he’s not a Sony employee, he’s dedicated to the product. But we’re not ready to update yet.”

It’s been a long time coming. Are you still bothered? Let us know below.

    You should probably add the part where GI mentions that The Last Guardian team has PS4 development kits.

    I can take it moving to PS4, and I can take it being delayed ’til 2016 or even a hefty price tag, but…

    DON’T you fucking DARE make it a free-to-play online multiplayer [insert random paradigm shift here].

    Getting tiered (sorry I mean tired) of this and Half Life 3. They better not end like Duke Nukem Forevers 10+ years love story with lot of hyped fan boys in it.

    PS4, we’ll see it at either the VGAs or next years E3, it will be gorgeous, and it will be glorious!

    I shall keep my optimism alive, I shall!

    They were asked about it across several questions and responded with more or less ‘no comment, we aren’t ready yet’ – you expect them to blank the question completely?

    It’s good Sony still have this on the back burner. As long as it hasn’t been over baked, I’m glad if it goes over to PS4.

    @5:

    Aye, it’ll be PS4 I’m thinking. Like you I can’t suppress my excitement every time a TLG article hits. I can’t wait till the day I get my mitts on it and gently reassure it all the way home.

    “it’s okay… you’re mine now..”

    “shhh shhh..”
