Warcraft movie dated for December 2015, may actually happen

After literal years of delays and put-offs, Blizzard and Legendary Pictures are confident enough that the Warcraft movie will actually happen that they've given it a release date.

The date comes via Blizzard's Twitter and is specific, not a window: December 18, 2015.

At this stage, all that's been seen of the Warcraft film is a single teaser. The project was stymied for a long time, with former director Sam Raimi blaming Blizzard, which is notoriously protective of the property.

However, things have been accelerating since Moon director Duncan Jones took over; he's an avid gamer and the project is a dream come true.

The latest rumours suggest Colin Farrell and Paula Patton may sign on to star. Filming is expected to begin in January.
