Cut the Rope 2 due during the holiday season

After plentiful spin-offs, mobile hit Cut the Rope will get its first proper sequel within a few months.

Polygon reports Cut the Rope 2 is due during the holiday season, and includes "re-imagined" features.

As well as returning hero Om Nom, Cut the Rope 2 will have a cast of new charactersm interactive environments, altered gameplay mechanics and a new storyline.

The first Cut the Rope launched in 2010 and in the interim the physicas puzzler and its spin-offs have been downloaded 400 million times, with 60 million monthly active users, and has spawned a merchandising extravaganza. It's coming to 3DS, too.
