Microsoft: 40 percent of people who use Xbox Live in some capacity are women

Gamespot reports that Microsoft COO Kevin Turner said at an internal gathering of financial analysts that the Xbox Live "audience" is now just under 40-percent women. Turner said this represents a "giant change" from the dawn on Xbox Live. Because Turner is doing that major publisher thing where he doesn't explain anything, what this actually means is anyone's guess.
