Soul Calibur: Lost Swords TGS trailer shows Siegfried, Mitsurugi & Sophitia in battle

Soul Calibur: Lost Swords has received a new trailer out of Tokyo Games Show that offers a brief glance at Siegfried, Mitsurugi and Sophitia laying down smack with their curiously coloured weapons.

The free-to-play PS3 brawler is – weirdly – said to be single-player only and features a new elemental combat mechanic. Weapon effects like wind and fire can be imbued into weapons that are won by defeating enemies. You can also craft new weapons using materials scavenged after bouts. The key is in forging the ideal weapon to overcome each opponent.

What do you think?

Alright! Now I actually care about this thing, since Sophitia’s going to be in it.

Starting to think Namco Bandai heard all the complaints fans had over core franchise characters getting kicked out of the series with SCV and is working to repair the damage and bring those characters back. Particularly in the case of Sophitia, since she’s announced for this and will be playable for Warriors Orochi 3. It’s very refreshing to see this, it normally takes companies about a decade of dwindling sales and PR before they try to fix things they’ve done wrong.

^Hang on, the new interpretation of Lara Croft is degrading to women… but Sophitia is an example worth applauding?

You’ve been trolling us all along! Come on, admit it ;)

OOEEEEWWW, looks like it’s going back to the Soul Blade roots. Here’s to hoping Hwang, Cervantes, Rock and Li Long are also in.
