Star Citizen has a new stretch goal which would add a salvage mechanic to the game. According to Cloud Imperium, the addition is “a major gameplay feature,” and has its own “story tie-ins, and universe-shaping endgames.” The developer also added new concept art for a female explorer avatar to the website along with a poll asking whether the community would like the firm to continue crowdfunding initiatives. Massively reports that 88% of the 13,000 respondents so far have voted to continue crowdfunding for extra features and development milestones. More through the links.

A million for the most basic mechanic of any space combat game?

This continues to sound like the greatest con ever. I wish I’d thought of it.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing… So if they didn’t generate another 2 million dollars then they wont have that small mechanic that’s probably already implemented? Jesus fuck they should be adding everything they possible can for half the money they even received.

As salvage mechanic, not a salvage mechanic! Well, you know what I mean. It’s not about salvaging loot (since it is not the typical “loot everything with the press of a button”-kind of game), but about an additional career path with specialized equipment and content.
