Deep Down: PS4 exclusive produces three new screens

Wednesday, 18th September 2013 06:37 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono has released three new screens for PlayStation 4 exclusive Deep Down.

We’re still in the dark as to what Deep Down actually is, except that it’s a PS4 exclusive and an online RPG, built on a new engine called Panta Rhei – something of a vehicle for Capcom to push graphics, as it’s aiming for photo-realism.

In a recent interview, Ono said the game is set in New York in 2094, but has players travelling back in time to explore self-generating dungeons.

We’re expecting to learn a lot more during and after the Tokyo game Show, which runs September 19 through 22. Anyway, take a look at the screens below.

Thanks, Gematsu. Twitter links: 1, 2, 3

    February trailer was great.
Recent PS4 footage not so great.
    This looks even worse.

Not sure why the texture quality drops by every new screenshot they release.

    @4 That’s a gross exaggeration.

I think it looks great, but I’d like to see some gameplay.

Never believe early pre-rendered trailers to represent anything. This looks like it could be gameplay shots of some sort. Looks interesting in my opinion.

This is quite different than what we had seen on the game’s reveal.
The characters, dragon and fire look quite great, but the ground and walls textures look REALLY bad

Image capture quality is questionable. Looks almost off screen. Lovely lighting, but some dodgy texture work. It’s still some way off release though.

It seams there are allot of motion blur effects going on in the game. Either to make it get a special look or to hide bad frame rate.

You must have mistaken me for a child or adult with Adult Child Syndrome?
I play games and really don’t care what it says on the front of a plastic box.

I know this is very confusing for you to understand, but there you have it.

@11 yes it can be a bit hard to understand you. but i guess that is expected from someone that cant read what is on the plastic box they are buying. here is a tip for you, make sure to go into the optician shop next time, and not gamestop. after that you can come back here and not posting like a retard.

Those screens look blurry like it wasn’t captured from the game but using some other method. I loved the announcement but not the assassins creed style stuff later shown. I reserve judgement till I see gameplay.

Still though, RPG’s are my favorite genre and I am happy to see a new ip coming.
