Final Fantasy 14 digital sales resume following early server issues

Square Enix has re-opened digital sales of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, which were halted shortly after launch when demand outpaced server capability.

After three weeks of being out of stock, Final Fantasy 14 is back on sale at digital retailers. The resumption of digital sales suggests Square Enix has been successful in ramping up server support, as promised, or that demand has tailed off slightly, as is natural once fans smash through first-round content.

Siliconera spotted a pretty good deal on Green Man Gaming, offering 25% off both the standard and Digital Collector's edition. Use the code GMG25-4T2A7-4HOQ2 before 11:00AM ET September 20 to take advantage.

The game is also available through Square Enix, the PlayStation Store, and various digital retailers. Physical copies on PC and PlayStation 3 have been available since launch, but Square Enix offered refunds on the PSN version after log-in issues unrelated to the broader server problems. Square Enix also extended free trials and apologised profusely for launch dramas.

New content is expected for the subscription-based MMORPG every three months.
