Metro: Last Light's Developer Pack DLC lands September 17, allows you to create custom AI battles

Deep Silver has announced the long awaited Developer Pack for Metro: Last Light will be landing on Steam, PSN and Xbox Live on September the 17th. Costing about $4, the pack is an odd combination of stuff, check it out after the cut.

First off: here's everyone's favourite, a model viewer like it's that Bioshock DLC. A shooting range where you can go hog wild with any kind of weapon and complete some kind of marksmanship trial like it's America's Army 1. An atmospheric mission where you creep through a spider's nest with a new flamethrower like it's Aliens.

Lastly, there's an AI arena where you can force NPCs to fight for your amusement like some kind of post apocalyptic Caesar (not this guy). Deep Silver's PR also implies there're challanges to complete via the AI fighting one another, which sounds really interesting and almost like a strategy game. Imagine "you have 3 Nosalises, sculpt the arena in such a way they can neutralise a patrol of 4 Nazis". Of course I'm sure it won't be that robust and there'll probably be pretty disappointing limits on what you can ask the engine to do, especially since the mode is coded to work on the consoles. Ah well, it'll still be interesting to see what it ends up being.

As I gather is pretty normal, European Metro fans will pay about one and a half times what American fans do, so apologies for that.

Thanks, Computer and Video Games.
