Dead Rising 3 rated R18+ in Australia due to nudity, sex and high impact violence

Dead Rising 3 has become one of the first games to receive the Australian Classification Board's elusive R18+ ratings, ostensibly due to its "high impact" violence and gore, "strong impact" sex and "moderate impact" nudity. Which are all considered safer that Saint's Row 4's alien drug use and anal probe gun, which were just too salacious for us down under. Saints Row 4 only just released a few days ago here due to the cut necessary.

Killer Instinct's rating was also released today by the board, which is just a soft M. Surprisingly, Killer Instinct obtained such a soft rating despite ticking every one of the Classification Board's boxes, including drug use, nudity and sex, which were not what I expected from the fighter.

At least Dead Rising 3 can still be sold, right? It'll be interesting to see how stringent retailers are in applying the new adults only rating to such a big release at the next-gen's launch.

Thanks, AusVGClassifications.
