Wednesday, 11th September 2013 10:53 GMT By Dave Cook

Timesplitters Rewind it the Crytek-blessed fan project that looks to reprise the classic series in a new game. The project has just hit Steam Greenlight and the developers are accepting fan feedback and suggestions now.

You can find the Greenlight page here, and it follows confirmation that the shooter is now in development for PS4.

A public pre-alpha phase is targeted for December, and will give players a chance to try out some characters and maps.

What would you like to see from the project?

Wut? Oh my, this is good news. It seems like the really interesting stuff keeps coming to the PC via indies, and I’m so happy about it. Timesplitters was delightfully odd at times.

I love that the lack of gating and ridiculously heavy fees makes stuff like this possible.

Edit: Eee. The movement speed is quite nippy (not quite as fast as I’d hope for, but still nippy) and I saw floating guns. This is a good thing.

I just hope that it can remain true to the spirit of Timesplitters.

Edit II: Poop. This is serving to remind me of how much I want a Bulletstorm sequel. I miss genuinely silly FPS games.

Anyone else miss that era? Of fast, spontaneous, and utterly ludicrous FPS games that didn’t really care about how much sense they made and were more invested in amusing the player? You know, back when FPS games were games. Rather than slow walking and building explosion simulators.
