Deep Down detailed for PS4 in Japan: set in 2094, has procedural content

Monday, 9th September 2013 08:50 GMT By Dave Cook

Deep Down has been discussed for PS4 by Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono at a Sony event in Japan this morning. Despite its grim, almost medieval appearance, it’s actually set in the future. We’ve got a gameplay trailer inside.

Tweeting the event as it happened, Eurogamer reports that Deep Down is indeed set in 2094 and takes place in New York. The idea is that must read mysteries to solve an over-arching crime.

While Ono confirmed the game will be explained in greater detail at TGS, he teased that the online title would feature random monsters and procedurally generated dungeons. Online multiplayer includes up to four players.

Are you pumped for Deep Down?

    @2 Did you not see the original trailer, where the end has some guy messaging via a modern screen using Blanka from SF as his avatar? Very odd.

    I think it is confirmed it is exclusive, SCEJ is helping out with the development.

    Really liking the sound of it personally. Sounds good.

    @5 thanks.

    Online only :( Ah, forget it then. Was hoping for a slightly more accessible next-gen Dark Souls.

    Not really interested in random multiplayer encounters.

    #6 its not clear yet if its a real MMO like game or something like Diablo 3 PC where you have to be online but its not a MMO.

    If its a typical MMO I dont care for it, but if its a normal game that requres me to be online because of some features or so…I would be fine with that.
