DayZ zombie AI getting reworked, won’t affect Alpha’s release

Saturday, 7th September 2013 18:23 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

DayZ will be getting a new zombie AI system, according to the latest update on the game’s blog. Dean Hall is in the process of writing the new code, which will see more natural pathing, the avoidance of obstacles and the ability to change course based on player location. Hall said revamping the AI won’t delay the Alpha as the current system can be switched out once it’s ready. Progress on multiplayer optimization was also mentioned. Still no date on the Alpha. Video is below. Thanks, PCgamesN.

It might be just me but the amount of drag and drop feels a bit excessive. Its an improvement over the mod but seems to interactive for what you are accomplishing, maybe if there are going to be more involved tasks to be done in the inventory would this be helpful.
