Kojima opened LA studio to explore possibility of interacting with film industry

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima said at a press event at Kojima Productions' new Los Angeles studio Thursday that one of the reasons they decided to open a new office near Hollywood was to make it easier to explore transmedia possibilities. Kojima may even already have such projects in the works, but he won't confirm or deny that.

"Now that we've transitioned from the analog stage to the digital, it really gives the possibility for the game industry and the film industry to interact," Kojima said through a translator, "and so there is the possibility of that, and that is one of the reasons why we opened another base here in LA."

When further questioned about whether Kojima Productions are already working on such projects, he replied: "It's a secret."
