Titanfall beta scams begin as Respawn issues warning

Thursday, 5th September 2013 12:14 GMT By Dave Cook

Titanfall beta scams were an inevitability, and developer Respawn Entertainment has issued a warning telling gamers to avoid them at all costs.

Now, every time I post a story like this I get shit from people who say ‘Ugh, how dumb do people have to be to believe these scams?’ Well, not everyone is as clued up as you or I, so it pays to give people a head’s-up just in case. Anyway…

…Respawn has tweeted out a warning on the matter:

The studio has also said it has nothing to announce on local split-screen yet. Would you like to see the feature included?

You can check out my massive hands-on preview and Respawn interview from gamescom here for everything you need to know about Titanfall so far.

    Er, you know you’re writing on a games site and not talking to your mates down the pub, right?

    @1 Thanks, I had no idea ;)

    I’m also just trying to stem the usual wave of users slamming people for being fooled into these scams. It’s not fair on them.

    I’d love to see Titanfall with local split screen. I think a lot more games should have proper split screen game play. I much prefer to play games with a group of friends in the same room than sitting on my own with a headset on.

    @3 I’m the same. I miss games like Power Stone that were just a riot with mates :D

    @3 Amen to that. I miss split-screen games, the last one I played was Army of Two The 40th Day, but it wasn’t that great.
