Street Fighter gun Daigo takes out 2013 Evo champ in straight sets

In a series of ten matches at PAX Prime, legendary Street Fighter boss Daigo Umehara hammered opponent Kun Ho, this year's Evo champion.

Gamespot reports the two faced off during the Mad Catz's Unveiled event, playing ten rounds of Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition. Daigo won in straight sets.

Ho, better known as Xian, was the SSF4:AE champion at Evo 2013, and his detractors are likely to take this defeat as vindication; Xian's win was slightly controversial as he used Gen, a character rarely fronted in tournaments and therefore less familiar to opponents. You can make up your own mind on that one.

Daigo was in attendance at Evo 2013 but didn't make it to the finals to battle Xian, having been knocked out by regular rival Sun Woo Lee for the second year in a row.

The PAX event was the first time either competitor had played in front of an audience since Evo, and Daigo's defensive, close game proved too much for Xian. The match is embedded below.
