Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is multiplayer only, will run you $39.99 on Xbox One

Tuesday, 3rd September 2013 22:09 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be a multiplayer only title, according to PopCap Games.

Speaking in an interview with Shacknews, the first-player shoot supports four-player co-op and in competitive mode, up to 24 players.

Boss Mode, as noted previously, will be an Xbox One exclusive and additional add-on content is content under consideration.

“We definitely want to build on the game once it’s launched,” said creative director Justin Wiebe. “We’re definitely taking a cue from Plants vs. Zombies 2. Using DLC and new content updates, we want to keep players engaged in the long haul.”

The game will launch for $39.99 on Xbox One first before landing on PC and Xbox 360 for $29.99 in 2014 and will eventually release on other formats.

It’s not Xbox exclusive… it’s only time-exclusive. Get your facts straight, VG247… geez!

What part of “will eventually release on other formats” didn’t you get?

Sigh, this looked like a ton of fun, but for 40 bucks, oh hell no. was expecting 15-20

That is hella pricey. Glad it is only for the Xbox One – lets see how those sales work out for them on that console. It is not going to move at that price, especially when you can get BF4 for $50 at BestBuy in the states.

The game looks super fun, will have no problems picking this up for $39.99 on either XBO or PS4 sometime in 2014.

Cool, glad to see its not a complete exclusive. I actually really wanted to play this, so waiting a while for a PS4 version is better than never getting it at all

well… it could have had a cool story mode, or a single player mode like the mobile version :\ also the actual pVz was/is single player. Am disappointed.

    DE BOMBA!

    $40…for a multiplayer only title…

I can only imagine that means $60-$70 Australian, that’s not even in the same ball park as a fairly priced game.

    This game is DOA.

Multiplayer only? WTF? Not a chance in that deep, incredibly hot, underworld place, will I ever touch this.
