Players won't be going in without protection though, as the game gives players the ability to customize their gladiator's armor, weapons, shields, and consumables.

Each of these items will be earned through victorious combat matches and entertaining the audience - the main purpose of the Colosseum.

The more enemies you slaughter in this arena, the more the audience entertainment meter fills granting you fame.

At the beginning of the video you will also notice the “dynamic tile sets”, which are movable tiles which contain hidden obstacles and scenery. These provide the player with a variety of battle scenarios to keep things both interesting and challenging.

At launch, the game will contain 11 multiplayer maps for you to battle in, and you won't have much longer to wait - Ryse: Son of Rome is an Xbox One launch title slated for November.
