Monster Hunter 4 -”no plans” for a Vita version, Capcom reiterates

Saturday, 24th August 2013 18:46 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Capcom has reiterated that at present, there are no plans to bring Monster Hunter 4 to PlayStation Vita. According to chief operating officer Haruhiro Tsujimoto speaking with Mainichi Shinbun Digital, the firm wants as many people as possible playing it on 3DS as it is “only thinking about making it succeed.” He further stated the goal is to reach 2.8 million units sold within seven months of Monster Hunter 4’s release. Stop raging. PSvita isn’t popular enough so that third party dev make AA+ games on it… with the price drop, Tearaway and killzone let’s hope vita’s popularity will increase otherwise it’s going to be very problematic for Sony.

In 2 years I didn’t see ONE system-seller from sony on thei vita, it’s definitely their fault, plus the price drop is one year late.

@3 There’s a theory going around that it’s not the userbase that is the reason Capcom refuses to bring MH

Have you noticed that none of the (main) MHs are on an HD console? High Definition is more expensive to develop than Standard Definition, and Capcom is one of the few left that simply refuses to make that change.

The thing is that technology is changing, and everything is turning to digital now. Capcom is going to have to EVENTUALLY move over to HD, but right now they are trying to stick to the cheaper, older ways for as long as possible.

I’m pretty sure it’s logical that a Monster Hunter would sell more on an Xbox or Ps3 or expecially both, rather than a goddamned Wii where people mostly bought it for SSB, Mario Kart, and Wii Sports

It really isn’t the userbase. Although I do find it odd that they are trying to migrate their audience. 5.5 million users is wha they want to migrate to the wii u/3ds. Hopefully, they get wht they want, but i hate the franchise myself.

It’s funny, because Capcom released Monster Hunter on the PSP when it was being crushed by the DS, AND released MH3U on the Wii U.

Personally I couldn’t care less, the game looks horrible and will play in a chunky way with no dual analogs.

@Eddie Rodrigues: I have Monster Hunter 3U on 3DS, and it plays awesomely well without a second analog. I have a ps vita and can’t a reason to even turn it on. The game’s amazing, Capcom’s amazing, 3DS is amazing, I’m AMAZING!!
