Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z gets Super Saiyan God Goku and more

The Dragon Ball Z roster is expanding even further. Battle of Z, the next super-powered brawler in the series, will have over 70 playable characters, including Super Saiyan God Goku, Full Power Form Frieza, and Captain Ginyu.

“Super Saiyan God Goku is a very important character in the movie [Battle of Gods],” producer Shuhei Sekii told Siliconera. “In terms of character balance, I am trying to make God Goku a little bit stronger than the other characters, but we are still working on balance.”

Sekii also explained a system whereby characters in Battle of Z are split into 4 different types: fighting, support, ki blast, and interference. There’s no solid detail on what these mean just yet, but you can probably work it out.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Vita in sometime in 2014.

Balance must be an immense issue for any game based on a series revolves around being more powerful than the last guy.

Makes me wish the Salmon character had won that Tekken vote…

Well it’s not like the characters are as powerful in the game as they are in the series. Otherwise the lower end guys could be taken out in a single punch xD

They better make this game better than the others. Im tired of them just rehashing the same stuff with little changes, sometimes the changes are worse. I LOVE DBZ. I wish they would learn how to make an incredible game!
