Panzer General Online headed to browsers this year

Ubisoft has announced a new addition to its free-to-play line-up: turn-based strategy effort Panzer General Online.

Developed by The Settlers and Anno studio Blue Byte in collaboration with Funatics Software, Panzer General Online is a historically-inspired, browser-based strategy game based on the Panzer General franchise.

Multiplayer is the focus, as you'd expect; the campaign is an extended tutorial, and includes battles like Omaha Beach and Monte Cassino. Available units include airplanes, infantry, tanks and more, and there is a card trading element.

Keen? A closed beta kicks off this year; register on the game's website. The Panzer General series has been in Ubisoft's hands for some time, and has been developed by various teams including Petroglyph Games.
