Street Fighter is not coming to Wii U

Monday, 19th August 2013 09:18 GMT By Dave Owen

Capcom will not be bringing the Street Fighter series to Wii U any time soon, according to executive producer Yoshinori Ono in response to a fan question on Twitter.

This follows the announcement in July of Ultra Street Fighter 4, a major update to Super Street Fighter 4 that will add new characters, stages, and modes. This is due early on in 2014, both as DLC and as a retail release.

But it seems that the game will not be coming to Nintendo’s Wii U system any time soon.

Bad news?

Many thanks, CVG.

    Don’t worry, this:

    1. Isn’t a big title for Nintendo fans.
    2. Wouldn’t do that well anyway.
    3. Not what you would buy a WiiU for.
    4. Doesn’t sell millions of copies anyway.
    5. Who plays SF anyway?

    That about right?

@6, Even if there was, there’s no games to use them with!

Capcom announced earlier that all 3 SNES Street Fighter 2 games are releasing on the European Wii U eShop this Thursday, with an offer that if you buy 2 you get the 3rd free.
