Dragon Quest: Monster Parade gets a trailer

Monday, 19th August 2013 11:09 GMT By Dave Owen

Square-Enix is giving Dragon Quest the free-to-play treatment on PC. Check out the first trailer for Dragon Quest: Monster Parade.

Unfortunately embedding has been disabled on this one, so you’ll have to take yourself over to Square-Enix’s YouTube to have a look.

Dragon Quest: Monster Parade is described as a “real-time adventure parade.” It’ll be free-to-play in your browser, and features the inevitable in-game purchases.

Yay or nay?

Thanks, AGB.

I honestly have no idea what to make of this. I think it’s one of those things where I’d have to play it to fully understand it, and perhaps to appreciate it. I like the art, but beyond that… Uh.

Famitsu described DQ X as grindy, I’m not sure I want it.

The reason why that’s important might sink in in a moment. If not, read on! See, Japan is known for grindy RPGs, they’re as common as water over there, and when I was younger and had too much time on my hands, I played them.

These days, I tend to use cheats to speed up the levelling about 20x to actually make them bearable, so that I can quickly scoot from one area to the next.

Famitsu said that DQ X is more grindy than its offline counterparts. More grindy than a normal Dragon Quest game.

That does noooot sound appealing, oh my goodness no. No thank you.

Kind of sick of inexcusable grind.
