Disney Infinity PS3 suffering freezes, deleting patch may help - report

Disney Infinity players have reported freezing and lockup issues with the PlayStation 3 version, although a temporary fix is available.

Numerous reports of the problem have surfaced on the PlayStation forums as well as across social media.

According to Kotaku, evidence suggests the freezing issue may have begun after a patch was issued on Sunday.

Backing up this idea, producer John Vignocchi has been advising users on Twitter to delete the patch. You can do this by accessing the Game Data folder on the XMB; delete the version 1.01 Disney Infinity folder, which can be identified by pressing the triangle button. When you start the game again, repeatedly refuse the update by pressing the circle button and it will stop prompting you to install it - alternately, you can play offline.

Avalanche Software is aware of and investigating the issue. No ETA on a fix yet.

Disney Infinity is out now in North America and hits Europe this week. It's also available on 3DS, Wii, Wii U and Xbox 360, with a PC version coming in October.
