Smash Bros. Wii U: new screen shows Pilotwings plane battle

Super Smash Bros. Wii U has received a new screen from Nintendo, and it shows the game’s Pilotwings stage in action.

It’s today’s daily image over on the Super Smash Bros. site and it comes via GameInformer. You can see Pilotwings Resort’s Wuhu Island in the background.

What do you think?

This is one thing I really disagree with about Smash Brothers.

Adding levels from games a lot of new players won’t even understand or get the reference.

Nintendo want to add levels from Star Fox, Pilot Wings, F-Zero etc…

But don’t want to bother releasing new titles in their respective franchises?!

Surely releasing Smash Brothers at the same time or near to a new Wii U version of Star Fox, Pilot Wings etc… Would help bring more attention to the brands and give new players reference points?

I am assuming from the look of the stage that it is based on the 3DS Pilotwings. For me, the real complaint is that they made such a cheap and crappy little game then had the audacity to call it Pilotwings.
