12GB PS3 SKU finally spotted in North America

Our friends in Europe have had the option of purchasing a cheaper 12gb model of the super slim PS3 for nearly a year, but there has never been any sign of these arriving in North America and SCEA's stance has been that it wouldn't. That, however, is about to change, as Engadget spotted a listing for this SKU priced at $199 on FutureShop's site, and a reader sent them an image of a real life model that has been sitting in a US K-mart stock room and bears a sticker declaring "DO NOT SELL OR DISPLAY PRIOR TO 8/18/13." It should be noted, however, the 500gb GTA V PS3 bundle that includes a month of Plus goes for $269 presently.
