Rise of the Triad profitable in just one week

Rise of the Triad sales pushed the remake into profitability in its first week on sale.

The news comes via Interceptor Entertainment's marketing director, former games writer Dave Oshry.

“Interceptor set out to create a specific game for a specific audience on day one,” Oshry told Gamefront.

"We knew that if we kept costs down and delivered what we promised through the right distribution channels for that audience, we’d be successful.

"Steam, GOG and Green Man Gaming have been amazing partners for Interceptor and Apogee, and we can’t thank them enough for helping us to get ROTT out there so much so that we turned a profit in week one."

Rise of the Triad is a modern remake of the 1994 classic of the same game, which first released via shareware. Created at Apogee Software by a group of former 3D Realms staffers, it's considered a poster boy for 1990's shooters. The remake dropped at the end of July.
