Battlefield 4 "Total War" video shows gameplay, Levolution and other multiplayer information detailed

Battlefield 4 has a new video available which shows off new gameplay, and new Frostbite 3 Engine footage. It's in French, but you don't need to speak the language to see what is going on.

Furthermore, the Battlefield Blog has posted The Road to Battlefield 4" which is part one of a new series of informative blog postings on the game.

The first one titled "Dialing Up The Team Play" give a look at the multiplayer portion.

While some of what's in the blog has been discussed before, Levolution - which means every level in the game will evolve over time on a multiplayer map - has been discussed in more detail.

According to the blog, Levolution is an "overarching design concept incorporating a lot of features both big and small, that all affect gameplay in some way."

"It includes features like changing weather conditions that affects visibility, car alarms and metal detectors alerting players of enemy presence, or the ability to completely shroud a building in darkness and take out the enemies within using your IRNV scopes," states the blog post.

"Much more than just massive feats of destruction or pretty graphics, the exciting thing about Levolution is how it affects gameplay. From bringing down a skyscraper to securing a zone from enemy vehicles by raising bollards to block entry, Levolution will let you dynamically shape every game. And like so many other elements in Battlefield 4, Levolution also ties into the team play aspect of the game."

Also discussed are Field Upgrades, which if you ever played Battlefield 2142, you already know what these are - but they have been tweaked for Battlefield 4. Basically, Field Upgrades are "chained boosts," which can affect a number of gameplay mechanics, similar to the specializations in Battlefield 3 - in other words: faster sprint speed, stronger personal armor, or expanded ammo capacity.

It's all there through the link. Go have a read and enjoy the trailer below courtesy of GamesHQMedia. When the English version becomes available, we'll be sure to post it.

Battlefield 4 will be available October 29 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and will also be made available for PS4 and Xbox One once the consoles launch.
