Friday, 2nd August 2013 14:37 GMT By Dave Owen

Papers, Please, in which the player assumes the role of an immigration officer, is set to release next week.

Indie game designer Lucas Pope describes the game as a “dystopian document thriller.” Players are charged with the responsibility of approving or denying entry into the fictional country of Arstotzka.

Papers, Please takes place over 31 days, with new rules being introduced as time progresses, leading to a possible 20 different endings.

It will be available on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store on August 8, priced at £6.99 ($9.99)

Am I a jerk for thinking it’s a little bit overpriced?

Am I the only one who is completely fucking terrible at this game? If I try to be fast, I’m almost sure to miss something, and if I’m double-checking everything I get maybe like 4-5 guys through in a day.

And then nearly everything goes to expenses :(

I just feel utterly pwned by this one.

@4 I was thinking the same thing, but I’m a little ashamed of it, because you know, starving artists and all that.

@5: But isn’t it a little bit counter-productive? If it’s one artist, wouldn’t it be better to sell the game for $5 instead? I mean get games like Call of Juarez: Gunslinger or Shadowrun Returns for $15.

Games with much higher production value and staff.

And kind of, yeah. I manage 10 people a day.
