Crackdown is now available free to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

As you can see, the game is now listed as gratis over on and OXM reports that it will be followed on August 16 by Dead Rising 2 and companion game Dead Rising 2: Case Zero.

Germany gets a different pair of titles however, starting with Shadowrun from today, and Lost Planet 2 on August 16.

Will you be partaking? Let us know below.

    Thats pretty grim.
But I suppose it means if I boot it up there should be a fair amount of new players I guess.

Lost planet 2 was cool though (nudge nudge, wink wink)

Shadowrun was a fantastic game, really well balanced and a great selection of skills, characters. It suffered from a fan backlash by not being the Shadowrun they wanted and being very low on content for a full priced release. Surprised there are still servers running.

I actually liked shadowrun, it just got to the point where no one really played it much and when I did the teamwork was shocking.

While I understand beggars can’t be chosers, I have all these games already. I guess it is cool that MS is giving them away to those with gold and gold isn’t required down the line to play them. Now I don’t have to fish around to find the discs.

I have Crackdown, but in disc form. The digital version is more convenient (no need to insert a disc), so I’ll probably grab it, and keep my disc on the shelf. Best of both worlds. I never got Dead Rising 2, so that I’m definitely getting.
