Super Smash Bros. petition calls for a playable Reggie Fils-Aime

Tuesday, 30th July 2013 21:00 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Super Smash Bros. fans will either roll their eyes at this or get behind it, but a funny thing happened on recently: a petition to put Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime in Super Smash Bros. 3DS and Wii U as a playable character. The actual subject was brought up last month through a Twitter question asked when he was on Jimmy Fallon’s late night talk show. Reggie said he would if designer Masahiro Sakurai thought it was a good idea. Sign the petition if you like here, along with the 10,583 other folks. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS is out next year.

Holy crap, never mind a game seller, that could be a system seller.

By which I mean “I personally will buy a Wii U and the game.”

I rather see Iwata in the game. Using his unboxing skills to take apart opponents.

I’m speechless. This feels really right. So far, Mega Man and Villager have been the only characters but if Reggie makes it… Wow.

This sounds crazy. Basically they can’t find any other figures to put in to it, but then they want an executive? Smash bros is probably one of the most overrated games on this planet.

Yup, This is why I will never understand smash fans. PAS comes out with 3rd party characters people scream unoriginality and say they don’t want it.

Then turn around and get excited for 2 bs characters and demand Reggie to be on the game?

    Just…. Screw it

It is completely different when it is related to Nintendo rather than Sony.

Also Smash fans and PSASBR fans are two different audiences, i wouldn’t call out hypocrisy just yet.

I call hypocrisy because Smash fans were the ones criticizing PAS roster.

And, it’s only different because Nintendo Fans give Nintendo a pass on almost everything. If Smash has 3rd party characters it’s wonderful, if others have it it’s uninspiring. The logic behind gamers/fanboys these days is just ridiculous

Ok now i see what you mean: so gamers/fanboys are like my first sentence with whatever big three they pledge their allegiance to.

@12 – Some smash fans. Not all. Not every smash fan had a go at Sony’s roster. Don’t act the twat and insult everyone when not everyone deserves it.

@16 if your not one of those hypos them you shouldn’t be offended. Calling me a twat only makes it seem like you were one of them and now your retaliating while saying you wouldn’t do it.

Smash fan here. I thought the roster in PAS was cool. But it wasn’t balanced, and the gameplay was boring. Disappointing.
