World of Tanks to get a Japanese version, collaboration with anime series

A localised version of World of Tanks is currently being developed for release in Japan, although it may not be a straight port but a curious anime tie-in.

Akiba-Soukon is reporting via Anime News Network that there's a collaboration of sorts between World of Tanks and anime series Girls Und Panzer. This could mean anything from full-fledged graphical changes to match the anime's style, to smaller skin packs.

This looks like the result of the new Wargaming.net Tokyo office we reported on back in May.

World of Tanks currently has 45 million registered users worldwide and the Japanese version of the game is set for release on September 5.
