Journey of a Roach contains no written or spoken dialogue

A new adventure from Koboldgames has players in the role of a cockroach, and uses a unique signalling system rather than human language to communicate.

Journey of a Roach plays up to the oft-cited suggestion that cockroaches could survive nuclear war. Players are cast as Roach Jim, who travels the post-apocalyptic wasteland with his sidekick Bud.

Jim and Bud can climb on walls and ceilings as well as objects, but gameplay is traditional point-and-click affair - except for the lack of human language.

Instead of spoken dialogue or written text, in-game communication is via a simple insect language of signals.

The unusual adventure is expected in November on Mac and PC, and is being published by German indie Daedalic Entertainment.
