Monster Hunter 4 gets new beetle beast

Monster Hunter 4 developer Capcom has updated the game’s site with fresh details on a new enemy type. They say it’s a beetle, but I don’t know, sort of looks like a scorpion with wings to me.

The site explains that Generu Serutasu – that happy chap you can see above – has no wings, but you can use insect pheromones to summon the male winged version Aruserutasu. Both types have a hard shell that absorbs your melee damage.

The site adds that you will be able to raise insects and use this to strengthen certain weapons, and that if your insect meets certain parameters it will level up and grow stronger.

Well there you have it. What do you make of Monster Hunter 4 and its beetles?

Thanks Gematsu.

I hope that is a Gold Crown, because that Monster looks massive!

    Yep, that’s a Scorpion. >_>

Japan has never really cared too much about categorisation, though. Having wolves named tiger and such is quite common over there, so this doesn’t surprise me at all.

@2: To be fair the color-palette is very beetle like but what exactly makes you say that?
