Knights of Pen & Paper dev Kickstarts Chroma Squad

Wednesday, 24th July 2013 23:57 GMT By Brenna Hillier

In Chroma Squad, you’ll run a TV show about Power Heroes-style superheroes, guiding them through turn-based tactical battles as well as managing a business sim.

Behold Studios, the team behind Knights of Pen & Paper, has taken to Kickstarter to raise $55,000 for the hybrid title.

Players will hire actors, customise the actors’ colours and roles in battle, buy equipment for their TV studio, record episodes, market their show and engage with fans.

There’s even a competitive and co-operative online mode, where you can film crossover episodes with other players, and the whole thing is wrapped up in a storyline with multiple endings.

Chroma Squad is expected on Linux, Mac and PC as well as in a touch-screen friendly form for Android and iOS. A beta version will launch in October, with full release expected in December.

There are lots of rewards available and the Kickstarter has already raised over half of its goal. Check out the pitch below.

I don’t much like the look of it, but Knights of Pen and Paper was a lot of fun, so I think I’ll throw a buck or two at ‘em.

@Brenna Was “Power Heroes” a thing in the UK (never heard of it) or did you mean “Power Rangers” in first line?
