Tales trademarks suggest new core entry next year

Namco Bandai has made three trademarks apparently related to the Tales RPG franchise.

Translating from Japanese reports, Gematsu notes the three new trademarks are:

  • Tales of Zestoria
  • Tales of Creales
  • Tales of Catastora

As Gematsu notes, Namco Bandai usually makes a number of red herring trademarks, sometimes not even bothering to trademark the real one till later on, so none of these titles are confirmed.

The most recent core entry in the Tales series is Tales of Xillia 2, which hit Japan in November 2012. Going by historic pattern, we can probably expect a new mothership title in Japan in 2014 - although what platform it will release on is anybody's guess.

Tales of Xillia arrives in North America and Europe in the first week of August. Tales of Xillia 2 and Tales of Symphonia Chronicles are both expected in the west next year.
