Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate includes seven-character team battles

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate fronts an all-new game mode with unusually large tag teams.

According to Gematsu, translating a Famitsu report, the new versus mode will feature teams of seven characters each.

Players wanting to test out their selections offline will be able to battle AI opponents; no word on how the CPU chooses its seven team members. Perhaps the singularity is upon us.

In addition to the new mode, Team Ninja has overhauled training mode with extra lessons, as well as providing more detailed breakdowns in the skill info screen.

Survival mode has seen some changes, too, with items to boost score or recover health.

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate is due on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September, both as a full game release and a free-to-play offering.
