Starbound gameplay to be streamed live at Insomnia 49 event

Starbound developer Chucklefish will showcase its procedurally-generated romp live at the Insomnia 49 eSports tourney in the UK this August.

The game sees players taking control of a space-faring captain who travels to an infinite number of generated worlds to hunt for loot, battle creatures and more. We've got a batch of retro-tastic screens here if you want to check it out.

Starbound is already a success and it hasn't even launched yet, having secured over $1 million in pre-orders.

“Chucklefish is all about involving its fans in development” said Tiy, company director and Producer of Starbound. “I49 gives Chucklefish the opportunity to speak directly to its fans as they try out the game. What better place to do it than the UK's largest gaming festival?”

“Starbound is the game we've always dreamed of producing,” Tiy continued, “but it's become more than just a game. It's an experience and a community. We've been blown away by the support of both our fans and the support of Multiplay, and we're incredibly excited to be showcasing the things we've been working on, in person; directly to our fans”

Insomnia 49 takes place between 23rd – 26th August 2013 at the Telford International Centre, where fans will be able to meet with Chucklefish and drink in a lot of eSports goodness.
