Xbox One: Gamestop closes online day one pre-orders again

Monday, 15th July 2013 05:44 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Gamestop appears to be doing the Hokey Pokey with the Xbox One. The retail chain had halted pre-orders before re-opening them this weekend, only to close them once more; clicking through to any of the day one bundles on Gamestop now results in a “currently unavailable online” message. Gamestop has also had trouble keeping up with PlayStation 4 pre-orders, and Amazon and Best Buy have had similar difficulties.

Thanks, Units.

Torrents are proof that console gamers are also pirates. What’s your point? They are also proof that people would rather download a magazine and not pay $5 for it. What’s your point again?

What on earth are you idiots on about? PC = dead and full of pirates? You must not have a decent gaming rig or the money to enjoy the wonderful sale Steam is currently having.

Seriously, why in the fuck does VG247 allow this dickhead to make multiple accounts and go into every fucking article and post shit? Makes the site and its great articles look horrible, almost on-par with IGN!

PC gaming is perhaps healthier than ever. It certainly has a greater choice of games than console gaming (and you can tell a platform’s health by the amount of different games on offer, which is how you know the Wii U isn’t doing well).

@10 You lack the logic to see the failure in your own words. If someone pirates a console game via the PC to play on the console that makes them a console gamer. Not a PC gamer. A lot of console games don’t work well on PC because they are designed for consoles and software emulation is really power intensive. It’s the reason why the PS2 emulator is only really being useful, because we have the power now.

    I’ve got mine pre-ordered in-store, Last time around I couldn’t get a 360 for quite a while, so I wasn’t playing around. I have the XB1 and a couple games prepaid for.
