Shantae hits 3DS Virtual Console next week

WayForward Technologies' original Shantae game finally makes the leap to 3DS next week.

"This just in - Shantae (3DS Virtual Console) will arrive in North America next week on July 18," WayForward's Matt Bozon announced on Twitter.

The 2002 Game Boy Colour classic was expected in June but was delayed at the last minute.

Shantae was followed by a sequel, Shantae: Risky's Revenge, which released on DSiWare before porting to iOS. A third entry in the series, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, is coming to Wii U.
