Crazy Taxi launches on Android devices

Crazy Taxi has released on Google Play letting you endanger the populace with wreckless driving once more.

The game first hit arcades in 1999 and came with a sweet soundtrack.

The game can be yours on Google Play now for $4.99, courtesy of Sega. It features Arcade and Original mode, as well as 16 bonus games that see you battering bowling pins and driving long mad obstacle courses.

Now get out there and make some craaaaazy money.

Thanks Polygon.

The first screenshot on the Google Play store seems indicate the soundtrack is intact.

I’d love to know how much dollar Crazy Taxi has raked in over the years – the game’s been in pretty much constant rotation on every platform available since 1999. And yet…still never played it ^_^

Insta-buy for me, as a Dreamcast refugee this was one of the best games out there, even the sequel didn’t make it obsolete because the challenging mechanics are timeless and tuned to perfection.

That being said, the lack of a stick will limit the kind of manoeuvres possible.

Still, this will go together nicely with Virtua Tennis as a small Dreamcast virtual shrine.
