Virgin Media launches TiVO games portal

Virgin Media has launched a new gaming portal called Play Games for its TiVO set-top boxes, and it's available to 1.5 million subscribers now.

In a press release sent out by the provider, Virgin confirmed it is now looking for new developers to create content for the portal using its Two Way Media development partner, which will help produce and monetise their flash games.

Players will be able to save and resume gameplay over many titles, including an adaptation of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? among others.

In a statement, Virgin Media's Charlotte Reece said of the launch, "The introduction of Play Games will give causal gaming a great new look on TiVo and the addition of extra games will add even more entertainment to what is the UK's most advanced connected TV service.

"With 1.5 million households across the country already enjoying all that TiVo has to offer, we're giving developers access to a whole new audience and the chance to bring new ideas and even more fun to home entertainment."
