Rockstar Leeds hiring graphics programmer to bring its “latest titles to the PC platform”

Tuesday, 9th July 2013 21:37 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Rockstar Leeds is hiring a graphics programmer which would be tasked with helping the developer bring its “latest titles to the PC platform.”

The job ad was pulled, but not before PC Gamer and Rockstar Watch got an eye full of it.

According to the listing, the ideal candidate would be working together with the other Rockstar studios and would be “responsible for maintaining the studio’s uncompromising quality bar, delivering the highest quality PC experience possible.”

The latest Rockstar title to be released was Red Dead Redemption, and GTA 5 isn’t out until September 17.

A PC version of GTA 5 was listed on both Amazon Germany and GamesOnly back in May, and while both listings were removed, a representative from GamesOnly confirmed the existence of such a edition stating “the content, as it is stated in the item description is correct.” No further word on the matter has been uttered.

Back in November 2012, Rockstar’s vice-president Dan Houser said a PC version was under “consideration,” and a petition to bring the game to the PC has 185,001 signatures.

Max Payne 3 was the last Rockstar game, not Red Dead Redemption.

It’s because they’re gong to put it out on xboxone and ps4, right? (which are basically pc’s)

#2 surely the ad would have specified nextgen? Or maybe they’ll port the port!!

#3 – well, I don’t think they want anyone to know it’s coming to ps4 / xboxone because then a lot of people won’t buy it when it comes out and just wait… I know I’m waiting for the ps4 version – If by feb, they don’t announce anything, maybe I’ll buy it for the ps3…

@1 But Max Payne 3 is out on PC. RDR isn’t. We’re talking about PC games, here. Not consoles.

But what you stated was generalized, it was not directed. We all know about assumptions right.

Does Rockstar have to write in blood for people to understand RDR is not coming to PC? THis is related to GTA V and whatever else they are working on.

Blood WOULD help, I still wouldn’t believe them, it just makes no god damn sense, WHY, WHY, WHY the fuck not bring it to PC?

Seriously, I have to know why because my feeble imagination cannot conceive of any outcome other than assloads of cash and tons of happy fans…yeah, who would want that on their conscience?…

Because they dont think it would be worth it for Red Dead Redemption.

They would need like ~6 month or so to port it.

If they estimate they wont get those 6 month salary+extra costs back through sales for the PC version, they dont do it.

There will of course be a PC version for GTA 5, 6-8 month or so after the console release.

GTA 4 sold over 25 million units but only ~700.000 on PC, thats still enough to make a GTA 5 PC version again.

If they’re porting GTAV to PC later on, i dont see why they cant do the same for the next gen consoles.

Has anyone really ever had a doubt that they gonna port GTAV to PC? That’s really naive.
Also as a person who doesn’t cares about GTA one bit (until they start allowing us to create our own characters), I like to see the word “titleS”, not just a title.
