Chris Roberts spends two minutes and 44 seconds explaining Star Citizen’s economy

Star Citizen, being allegedly the highest grossing crowdfunding project ever, is not a simple game. Stuff will be going on everywhere, and I imagine it will be a bit of a headache to dive it headfirst. Game director Christ Roberts understands this, and so he’s helping prep you with this video that discusses how the MMO’s economy will work.

It’s all very interesting, mostly because it seems pretty logical. But games and logic don’t always go hand in hand, so an explanation is required either way. Anyway, here’s the video.

Last week, we saw an actual trailer for the game. Click here if you missed it.

Still don’t understand how factions and guilds and getting ships work. I can’t tell if we have to pay with real money to get these ships, since that is ridiculous..

@3 No you earn money from the trades you do. For example, A station needs ore so you go to an ore mine buy ore and sell it to the station for 2x, 3x even 4x the profit. To buy a ship I imagine you go to a shipyard, dock and buy the ship. It’s very simple once you get used to it.
