Steam and Twitch team up, Dota 2 players to benefit

Steam and Twitch have officially joined forces to heal a divide in the Dota 2 community.

By making Twitch an official streaming partner, Steam has ended the Dota 2 player's debate of "should I keep watching matches in-client fo score item drops, or should I watch matches on the largest games stremaing community on the Internet".

As detailed on the Dota 2 blog, players will now be eligible for tournament item drops while watching Twitch streams, as long as they hold a ticket for that tournament.

You can hook up your Steam and Twitch accounts by clicking this link.

Valve is keen to introduce new features for the service and has asked for feedback.
