Sky's Now TV service launches on PS3, no contract required

Sky's Now TV has launched on PS3 in Europe, bringing Sky Sports and Sky Movies to Sony's console.

Eurogamer reports that for a £9.99 fee, users can buy a Sky Sports day pass, letting them watch sports on a pay-per-day basis. It's useful if you want to watch a big football match or other event without being locked into a Sky contract.

Sky Movies will cost you £15 a month for up to 20 new films each month before they hit Netflix and Lovefilm. You can try the service for free by signing up to a 30-day trial, and if you sign-up now you get the service for £8.99 a month instead of the regular charge.

Shows from Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Arts and Sky Living will be added to the app throughout the remainder of 2013.

Responding to the launch, Sony Computer Entertainment's UK boss Fergal Gara said, "Adding Sky's amazing content via Now TV to the PlayStation 3's services is a real boon for our millions of UK customers. Streaming great and exclusive sports and movie content to the family TV is a huge enhancement to the PlayStation entertainment portfolio."

What do you make of the above? Will you use the app?
