Wii U: Nintendo gives free Unity license to eShop studios, allows self-publishing says dev
Wii U eShop developers are each given a free Unity license and the ability to self-publish in Nintendo’s platform, according to Retro City Rampage developer Brian Provinciano.
FUN FACT: Every developer on Wii U gets a free Unity license and can self-publish, thus keeping all revenue & no pitching, no negotiation.

Provinciano tweeted Nintendo’s approach last week, suggesting that the company is keen to keep up with Sony’s positively aggressive approach to indies on PS4.
We’ve asked Provinciano and Nintendo to clarify the tweet and to send us some more information on the matter. We’ll update if we hear back.
For now though, what do you make of this supposed approach from Nintendo? Is it a positive step? Let us know below.
Thanks Nintendo Life.
